A little while back, my agent Tabitha Kit from Kit International Talent called me with a booking, and before I knew it, I was headed to Berkeley, California for a two-day shoot as the principal talent in a Disney x Farberware commercial.
The concept? I played a bubbly home cook making all sorts of delicious recipes with Farberware products: nachos, banana bread, a Mickey-shaped cake, and even grilled salmon. Now… full disclosure, I wasn’t actually whipping everything up from scratch. It was more of a “make it look like I totally know what I’m doing” situation. Think: holding a spatula like a pro, sprinkling cheese in slow motion, pulling a perfect cake out of the oven like it’s no big deal. I felt like Princess Tiana from Princess and the Frog!
The shoot was in a cool Berkeley studio and lasted two full days, which meant lots of outfit changes and plenty of time in front of the camera. One scene I’d be in cozy baker mode, and the next I’d be plating a picture-perfect salmon dinner for me and my date.

And because it’s Disney, they weren’t messing around. We had an official Disney rep on set making sure every little thing was “family-friendly,” “healthy,” and “Disney approved.” That meant checking every outfit, approving each makeup look, and even making sure the food looked wholesome enough for the happiest place on earth. (Yes, the even the jewelry I was wearing was discussed!)
By the end of the shoot, I had posed with more perfectly curated dishes than I could count, worn half a closet’s worth of outfits, and learned that fake cooking on camera is way more exhausting than it looks. Side bar… I actually did burn myself cooking the salmon. That oil was POPPIN!
Honestly, it was such a fun and special gig. A little Disney magic, a little food styling, and a whole lot of “Smile! Look like you just made the best nachos of your life!” Big thanks to Tabitha for landing me this one, definitely a career highlight I won’t forget!
